Synopsis
Suleiman is a Pakistani-American cab driver who has been settled in the San Francisco on a government program for witness protection. His special relationship with the authorities inspires him to investigate the case of brutal slaying of the 18 year old son of the Imam of the Islamic center after an emotional funeral. As Suleiman picks up the trail of the murder outside the home of the San Francisco 49’ers, he reluctantly befriends the victim’s teenage sister, who is a die-hard activist with an attitude. Suleiman’s amateur sleuthing puts him on the path of Mark Wu, a police detective who has closed this case as just another drug deal gone bad; Donna Ittachi an earnest female reporter who is investigating immigration detentions in the Muslim community and finally his old FBI handler, the dapper Dr. Sha, who advises Suleiman to stop while he is ahead or risk being exposed in his community as an informer.
